Paul Gray, 38, bassist and founding member of the Grammy Award-winning band Slipknot, was found dead May 24 at a hotel in his home town of Des Moines. The cause of death was under investigation. Although the toxicology tests haven't been completed, sources have confirmed that needles and pills were removed from around Gray's body in the hotel room. A hypodermic needle lay near the bed, and "all kinds of pills" surrounded Gray, who was hunched over in the corner of the room.
I am especially struck by the death of a very talented left-handed bass player.
This morning, in tribute to Paul we present Slipknot performing one of their signature tunes, Psychosocial, off 2008's All Hope Is Gone
