Ye Ghods...
Oct. 8th, 2008 05:18 pmToday sucked. Need more?
OK, where to start? 90 minutes after I got in, I was still unsure of what I was loading. Everyone left late. I came close to decking one of my coworkers when he whinged about how much stuff he had (he had a similar load to me, and his route covers Silicon Valley. Cry me a river.) I didn't make my first delivery until 0830, had a massive bundle of 2" rod burst, another pallet of rod nearly slid off the pallet, I had one site where no one knew what to do, got sent to a vendor for an order I picked up over a week ago. Close to ten hours, no breaks. Not "no lunch," no breaks. The closest I came to a break was five minutes at one site where I could relax while waiting for the forklift.
Tomorrow? Ha. Tomorrow I'm supposed to handle a return that might run to seven pallets of material.. and another return with a few hundred feet of 20' strut. Kill me now.
