OK, expanding a bit on last night's post.
Jul. 19th, 2008 08:44 amThe Dark Knight OMG, Heath Ledger has created the definitive Joker. His every line, his every mannerism, every action just screams that the character is both brilliant and so far around the bend that we can't see the road he's on. He plays everyone, and the entire city, and the results are spectacular and chilling.
Christian Bale is good, but really pales when paired with people like Ledger and Michael Caine (Alfred Pennyworth). his Batman growl is nice. Aaron Eckhart has probably the most challenging role in the film, playing Harvey Dent. Everyone turns in good performances, with Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox and my main man Gary Oldman as James Gordon.
The best thing about this movie is it has a plot (several of them) and they are all as twisted as the Joker's mind. You have to watch this movie, because things twist and turn and come back together. Very well written, and Christopher Nolan does a great job directing.
