This week is fired.
Nov. 29th, 2007 07:52 pmSo, after Tuesday's 12 hour epic, Wednesday was pretty calm (except for having to do my toute in the F-350, which has half the bed length and only 3 tons of capacity.)
Today? Today? I dislocated my thumb trying to adjust the mirror on the rental truck. That was probably the high point. No, wait.. the high point was one of the warehouse guys swooning and nearly passing out when I first walked over to the desk looking like a deformed hitchhiker, then calmly snapping the thumb back into place. The "pop" actually echoed. Cool.
The rental, which I'm driving while my poor truck gets fixed (when the debris took out the carrier bearing, it started a cascade of damage in my drive shaft) freaked me out all day. My transmission goes like this
R
N
D
3

The rental goes:

No air brakes, and I was constantly going into the wrong gear. That, and the thing had no gates, meaning I had to strap down everything.
Ten hours, no lunch. Thank Ghu tomorrow is Friday.
