I really need to find a better way...
Mar. 1st, 2007 09:54 pm... of beginning relationships with new insurance providers than by visits to the ER. But tonight, I broke in my Kaiser card in just that way.
About 1000 this morning, I started getting a sinus headache, a headache that only grew and got worse as the day progressed. When I finally got in (after nine hours) I could hardly walk from the pain coming in waves from just above the bridge of my nose. (Amusingly enough, the center of the pain was right where the Third Eye is supposed to be.. wonder what that means?)
I had to call Kirsten to come and get me, and along the ride home the pain got so bad I was literally in tears. Nothing worked. Pain killers, hot showers, quiet room with no light, the pain just crashed around my head, roaring back every time I moved me head. I was finally in tears from pain and fear (survive cancer and ever new development causes the "is this it?" question to pop into your head.) Kiri convinced me to go to Kaiser. Where our wait at Urgent Care totaled about ten minutes. Diagnosis? Sinus infection, and I was given prescriptions for an antibiotic and blessed Vicoden.
It's going to be fun calling Tim in the morning to tell him that i can't drive due to my meds, but he'll deal.
