gridlore: Doug looking off camera with a grin (Penguin - dance)
Happy Birthday to everyone's favorite crazy cat lady of Flushing, NY, the amazing, beautiful, and really, really neat [livejournal.com profile] fimbrethil!!

I was going to send you a gift, but Rob Halford is surprisingly hard to gift-wrap.

Ever since I lost my upper molars, I've become quite sensitive to changes in air pressure. To put it succinctly, drops in pressure cause me pain. We currently have a weak front rolling in, and it feels like I have a railroad spike through my head. Not as bad as it was before the big storm last week. I was literally screaming in pain in my truck. Making things worse was the fact I was heading mostly west, ahead of the front, so I kept dealing with the same pressure drop every time I stopped.

Saw Ghost Rider last night. Alas, [livejournal.com profile] kshandra's dinner didn't agree with her, and she had to leave before the opening credits. She texted me to say it was alright if I stayed, and since I've been drooling over this film for close to 2 years... Pretty good flick, stays pretty close to the (convoluted) source material. Nick Cage and Sam Elliott take turns trying to out-dry each other. Best moment? Ghost Rider reels in a police helicopter with his chains, looks at the pilot, and says "You are really starting to piss me off." It gets three penguins. See it at matinée prices.

Finished Heavy Weather. I'd be far happier with the book if the final bit between Alex and his father and the epilogue had been cut. It's too neat, to "and everyone lived happily ever after" for the tone of the book. Leave us with Alex walking away from Leo's body.

Worked was mixed. We started a new scheme designed to end my ten-hour days by splitting Central Valley deliveries to Tuesdays and Thursdays. Friday was freaking dead. A good number of our customers took Friday off to make a four-day weekend. So I was back fairly early, and got a chance to see the floor plan for our new warehouse. One glaring problem. They want to bring the trucks in nose-to-tail and load them at night. That involves non-truck drivers moving our vehicles through a narrow door, and trusting night crew to load the trucks correctly. This isn't as big an issue on my truck, but others need stuff loading in a very specific way, down to which side and item needs to be on. Current plan is to be moved by May. I'll believe it when I see it.

Kiri is off at PantheaCon. I deal with Woo even worse than I handle Furries. A Furry pagan? I'd probably explode into hot ninja death mode.

Other than that, not much is going on currently. Giants position players arrive on the 20th, expect to see an upswing in baseball posts around then.

My only two posts today (other than this one) were made exactly 12 hours apart.

It is a sign!
