The cold I had earlier this week has blossomed into a fever. I skipped the D&D game (which would normally rate a "goddamnit" but I'm too blah to do that) and have watched a lot of TV in the last 24+ hours.

Last night was the Sci-Fi channel block.

Heroes. Hiro is the only one I really care about, simply because he's the only one who is having fun with his powers! Even though he knows what is coming, and how desperate the situation is, he's loving his ability to manipulate time and space. The others are too damn angsty. Still, it is holding my interest nicely; and a big thank you for doing the rebroadcast. I'm an "early to bed, early to rise" type, so staying up to watch the first broadcast is not really an option.

Doctor Who - School Reunion. OK, is there anyone in England who is not an alien in disguise? Show of hands (or whatever) please? I love the series, but it's adventures in time and space. We need to get off the Earth, and soon! But the big thing in this episode was the return of Sarah Jane Smith and K-9. Possibly the best shot in the series so far was when Sarah, sneaking around, opens a door and sees the TARDIS. The range of emotions that cross her face is impressive: shock, joy, fear, wonder.. it all passes in a few seconds. Seeing what happens after a companion departs was neat. Not too sure about establishing that there was a sexual relationship, though.

Battlestar Galactica Damn, but this show continues to impress me. Not much to say, other than that I predict that if (when) Galactica succeeds in rescuing the colonists, they'll leave President Baltar behind to rule over his world.

Threshold Wait, weren't there a spate of shows like this last season? Invasion from above, beneath, or just from elsewhere? It's been done, kids. And sadly, the damn thing was so poorly written that even the interesting concepts got buried. Nice seeing Brent Spiner again - he was about the only interesting character in the lot. But there was a huge freaking plot hole.

Today, I watched a little college football (I really wish I knew why we never get to see Cal play), saw the Tigers clinch, and watched my latest Netflix gift - Ken Burns' Baseball - Disc 1. This covered baseball from it's birth in 1840 (Abner Doubleday had nothing to do with it) to 1900, and the near death of the game. Interesting, but a bit slow due to the lack of available media to support the storyline. As we progress, and more game film and radio becomes available this will improve. Currently, I have these discs spaced out between movies. Next up: The Italian Job this is the 2003 remake. I loved the original, so we'll see how this one fares.

After that, I finally got around to watching Madagascar. OK, OK, y'all were right. The penguins were perfect, and they stole the entire movie.

Now, I'm taking a hot shower, and crawling under the teddy bears. I hate being sick.
