Truck driving man!
Aug. 15th, 2005 04:33 pmToday I started working with another driver, Benny, who is barely out of rookiehood himself. They needed Chris to train Junior (our resident Samoan with a name that is unpronounceable.)
Benny is really laid back, and I ended up driving the whole day. I also did 3 of the 4 jobs we did with just assistance from him, they were my shows all the way. Damn, I'm ready to get going on this! Gimme a truck! Preferably John's.. it has a CD player and killer sound system. :)
I also have a new hat. Back when I was bragging about learning to drive a forklift, I linked to the Hyster web page. Poking around the site, I found a offer for a free hat. Filled in all the blanks, and since they insisted, they have sent a cool beige ball cap with three lifts on the front to Gridlore Technologies, LIC (corporate motto: "No, Sir Arameth has not been in cold sleep for a millennia. Go away, and don't open the door marked special storage.")
My teeth continue to torment me. It's a race between being able to chew food and October 18th, when my benefits kick in. I'd really, really hate to get started on this long, expensive procedure of getting dentures before I have insurance, but I may have no choice.
Stuffing for dinner. Sounds like a plan.
