20) Story behind your LJ username: Wayy back when I rolled up a Traveller character. I named him Arameth (I was reading a lot of pseudo-Celtic fantasy at the time) Gridlore. The last name came from listening to Howard Cosell describe someone as "a veritable fountain of gridiron lore." Well, Arameth turned out to be one of my most successful characters ever, and spawned an entire family of adventurers. Fast forward to the mid-ninties and the release of Traveller's 4th edition. The Traveller Mailing List started holding a starship building competition with role-playing elements. We all created companies that submitted designs in response to Imperial requirements. I made my company Gridlore Technologies. When we move to mindspring, I used gridlore as my email (because I hate using my name and a string of random numbers) so it was natural that when I started my LJ that I use gridlore as well. Oh, Gridlore Technologies has apeared in two official Traveller products - Ground Forces and 101 Corporations.

I am going to die at 77. When are you? Click here to find out!

That will be in 2043. Meaning the Giants have 37 more chances to win the World Series before I kick off this mortal coil. (Assuming that my death could come anytime after 0136 on 4 July 2043.)

Driving this morning to drop off a resume, I saw the following.

It was fairly foggy this AM, with the odd white light you get from the sun shining through the cover. Made for crappy visability overall, and the patches of ground fog made things worse. The road I was on is a fairly busy four-lane with several curves along its length. Speed limit is 35mph, but most people do about 45.

Anyway, as I drove along, I noticed a woman jogging in the middle of street! She was wearing a light gray track suit (nicely blending into the fog) and had an iPod plugged into her head. She wasn't crossing the street, but instead jogging right down the middle of a lane.

Yeah, jogging is so good for your health.
