Bush Blows Debate: Talks to Rove in Earpiece!

During the Presidential Debate Bush made what may be his most costly error- he exposed that he’s using an earpiece to help him answer debate questions. In the middle of an answer bush said, "now let me finish" as if someone was interrupting him - yet nobody did - he was talking to the person in his earpiece. Listen to the mp3 yourself- or watch the video at c-span

In preparation for the trip, I've been researching the New York Subway system. Why anyone would drive when you have this kind of service is beyond me, but that's another story.

One of the lines I've been looking at is the F line. This appears to run close to [livejournal.com profile] fimbrethil's place, and heads into Manhatten. Then I went out to the line page, and was amused to see that it is listed as the 6 Avenue Local.

I guess "local" in MTA speak means "it only hits 3 of the 5 boroughs."

Well, the baseball season is over for my beloved San Francisco Giants, but at least we went down swinging.

San Francisco Giants: 10
Los Angeles Dodgers: 0

Yeah, LA played a lot of scrubs, saving their big guns for the NLDS against the Cardinals, but we weren't exactly playing the A line for the majority of the game either.

Bonds ends the year with the NL batting title, and 703 career homeruns. The 40-year-old outfielder hit .362 and finished with a .610 on-base percentage, topping his old mark of .582. Bonds walked 232 times, 34 more than the record he set in 2002, and his 120 intentional walks obliterated the previous record of 68, also set by him two years ago. Jason Schmidt set a Giants record with 251 strikeouts, besting Juan Marichal's 1963 record of 248.

Back into hibernation until the magic words "pitchers and catchers report" are heard across this land. I'll watch the playoffs (and root like hell for the Cardinals and Red Sox) but my heart won't be in it.

So once more, with feeling..

When the Giants come to town, it's "Bye-Bye Baby!"
Every time the chips are down, it's "Bye-Bye Baby!"
History's in the making at Candlestick Park!
Cheer for the batter, and light the spark!

If you're a fan of Giants baseball, sing "Bye-Bye Baby!"
If you want to be in first place, call "Bye-Bye Baby!"
Listen to the broadcast on KSFO.
Turn up the volume, and hear 'em go.

With the San Francisco Giants, it's "Bye-Bye Baby!"

GO GIANTS!!!
Wait 'till next year!
