Circus Trees ate my Mom's Geo.
Sep. 4th, 2004 05:59 pmOy. What a day!
Today, my mom,
madelineusher and I went to Bonfante Gardens. This is a little family theme park down in Gilroy, Garlic Capital of the World.
Gilroy is also three miles from Hell's heating system. When I complain about it being 95 here, it's 105 in Gilroy.
Of we go, full of good cheer and well-hydrated. Halfway there, the radio in mom's Geo quits. Mysterious, eh?
Then the speedometer starts giving odd readings.. but we soldier on!
Bonfante Gardens never learned the three rules of real estate. The place is way back the middle of nowhere, behind McMansions and delapatated ranches. But we eventually find it, and wander in..
Well, if I had children under four, I suppose this place would have been very cool. Some nice sights, a fun ride or two, and of course, the Circus Trees.
Big thrill.
So, back the blast-furnace car.. which barelt turns over. Get back to 101, go ten miles.. and the car loses power and dies.
On the side of 101. In a rural area.
Thank Odin Nori had her cell phone. We called AAA, and the truck got there in about a half-hour. But oy!
What a day!
