Let Freedom Ring
Feb. 15th, 2004 12:34 amReading and watching the ongoing revolution at City Hall, I was suddenly struck by what this reminds me of.
The mood reminds of when South Africa had its first free, open election. I remember this one lady who carefully marked her ballot, placed it in the box, and then lit up like the sun.. She had voted! It wasn't a dream, it had actually happened! She danced out of that polling place, years of fear and oppression gone in a simple act of freedom.
People are dancing out of City Hall. The revolution has begun.
