Massachusetts Supreme Court rules: Ban on gay Marriage unconstitutional!

The legislature has 180 days to implement a plan to extend full civil marriage benefits to gay couples in the state. There is hostility to the measure, but unless the GOP can shove a constitutional amendment through in 180 days or less, gay marriage will be the law.

And know what that means? Under Article. IV. Section. 1. of the US Constitution:

Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.

This has been held up in many court cases to apply explicitly to marriage. So, get married in Mass., and you are married in every state of the Union!

Amusing sight..

at the 49ers game last night.

During halftime, they retired the number 42 worn by Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, who was the heart of the great Niner teams of the eighties. The guy was possibly the best defensive back ever to play the game.

The team changed hands a couple of years back in a complicated maneuver which forced out beloved owner Eddie DeBartolo in favor of his sister, who gave the team to her husband. During the ceremony, Owner John York was introduced.

And was booed by the sell-out crowd.

Then they brought up Eddie D. And the crowd went nuts. Standing ovation, chants of "ED-DIE! ED-DIE!" Every word he said was met by cheers.

York, you may on the team, but you don't own the 49er Faithful!

Heart Attack!

Going back through some posts, and I saw where I had written in a private, family group my schedule for the week.

I had myself working last night. Bowels turn to water, icy hand grips my heart, balls try to hide, the whole nine yards.. had I fucked this up already?

Grab my portable brain, and check. In there, I wasn't listed; but I check my total hours.

Going by my LJ post, I was over eight.. the length of my shift (not counting lunch.)

Gah. Need to get the calendar back up!
