Kirsten and I were running errands yesterday, and ended up in Palo Alto. So we went into Gamescape, where I found that GURPS Traveller: Humaniti. We had just enough money for me to get it.

Open the book and see this:

Written by Carlos Alos-Ferrar, Douglas E. Berry, Kurt Brown, James Maliszewaki, Andrew Moffatt-Vallance, Hans Rackne-Madsen, Jim Snead, and Jon F. Zeigler

Remember my cancelled Trojan Reach project from last year? SJG bought back the rights to everything I had submitted, and one of those things was the write-up for the Floriani, a divergent human race

Quick explanation for the Traveller-impaired. What the hell is a divergent human race? )

The Floriani are actually two species living in a symbiotic relationship. The Barani are designed for mental tasks, but are completely lacking in innovation. The Feskals are big, strong and dumb. They have an interesting society.

I don't get any further payment for this (This is work I've already been compensated for, but it's nice to see some of the disaster the was Trojan Reach see the light of day.

The All-Star Break Edition!

This time it sucked.

American League: 7
National League: 6

A Dodgers pitcher gave up the runs that led to the AL win. Under the new, unbelievably stupid rules imposed the moronic commissioner Bud Selig, the American League now has home field advantage in the World Series.

How I would change things )

So, how are the Giants doing? Very well! We've lead the NL West from day one, only sharing the lead for two days. We currently enjoy a five game lead in the division. The biggest surprise and concern this years has been our pitching. We've had several rookies come out and shock the league with their speed and control. Jason Williams, a 21-year-old rookie, has thrown well, getting a 96-pitch complete game in his seventh start. Jason Schmidt has become our ace, pitching five complete games with an ERA of 2.37.

So, here's the current standings in the NL West

San Francisco Giants: 57-37 .606
Arizona Diamondbacks: 52-42 .553
Los Angeles Dodgers 49-44 .527
Colorado Rockies 50-47 .515
San Diego Padres 35-61 .365

And the NL Record bet update.
