Some how, in alt.atheism we got on this tear of making outrageous claims. This is where it has led now:

If you aren't watching Survivor here's the situation. One of the contestants, Jenna, has a mother dealing with brain cancer. In last week's episode, they had an auction of treats. Each Survivor got a wad of cash, and they bid against each other for things like cake and a full breakfast.

After the food auction ended, Jeff (the host) pulled out letters from home, and announced that they would be auctioning off one letter. Jenna had blown all her money on food. Christie won her letter. Jenna began sobbing that it wasn't fair because her mom was sick, boo-hoo-hoo. She eventually got to read her letter. Mom is doing better.

Most of the readers on alt.tv.survivor saw this as just more evidence that Jenna is an extremely self-centered bitch. But a few people complained that she was heartless for going on Survivor at all while Mom was sick. Having fought cancer myself, I made the point that if Kirsten had this kind of chance, I'd let her go in a second! (I used the example of Burning Man in her case.) A raging argument has begun, so I thought I's ask you all. So, please take a moment and fill out the poll. Thanks.

Sadly, only the front page has anything, but we can hope for expansions.

The Ecological Footprint Quiz.

Category Acres
Food 5.9
Mobility 0.2
Shelter 3.2
Goods/Services 3.2
Total 12.5

In comparison, The average Ecological Footprint in your country is 24 acres per person.
Worldwide, there exist 4.5 biologically productive acres per person.

If everyone lived like you we would need 2.8 planets.

(I have to not that this quiz was designed by computers built with toxic elements and placed on the power-sucking Internet which connects more toxic, power hungry computers. Needless to say, I'm not wracked with guilt.)
