Mar. 5th, 2003 03:58 pmI got caught in the San Francisco State University "walkout", which involved blocking traffic on busy 19th Avenue. Since I live on 19th, and needed to get my bus home, I questioned several of the students about the wisdom of the tactic, since
a. they were just pissing off several thousand people, and
b. they were causing thousands of cars to sit in traffic idling, which as we all know uses more fuel, increasing our need for foreign oil.
To make a long story short, I ended up trying to debate several of these morons while waiting for the police to clear traffic, and I was struck by their inability to actually structure an argument. It was like they had all memorized that same silly arguments, and kept repeating them too me.
I'm am not impressed with the students at SFSU. Evidently, they have nothing resembling a history department there.
