Ever since we moved in here, we've had problems with roof leaks in the winter. B & C, being idiots, never even mentioned this to the landlord, leaving us with pretty bad ceiling damage.

But finally thins summer the decision was made to re-do the roof. Workmen came in in early September and tore everything out, and put down brand-spankin' new roof materials.

Now we're having our first storm, and the bloody thing leaks worse that ever. Water is coming in around all three skylights, and even more disturbing, from around a light fixture in the hall,

El landlord has told me he's tryijg to reach the roofers. I have asked if they can at least come out and put some tarps over the skylights to hopefully minimize the water entering our home. "Oh, we don't have anything like that."

Buy some. That's why we pay you rent.

Money woes.

Arg.

I've been trying to collect money for the big Oregon trip. A few bucks here and there. My goal is to have $200 for the ~8 days I'll be there. Enough that I won't be a complete charity case. I really don't want to show up and say "hi, I'm here. House me, feed me, and have sex with me before you drive me back to the bus for home."

However, I seem to be stuck in reverse. Kirsten's tips have sucked so badly in the last couple of days that I had to pull $40 out to go pick up my meds. I'm now down to $90 in the fund.. and I leave a week from Sunday. So hopefully a disability check will show so I can skim some money there, and Kiri has three paychecks this month, so I might make up some ground with that middle one. Thanksgiving is coming, so her paycheck after that should be fairly good.

That's it. I'm filing for SSA Disability. I'm going after every program I can find. We need a new car, we are planning on moving in June, and I'm sick of not being able to spend $3.50 on Time magazine.
