Unbelievable.
Oct. 31st, 2002 08:08 amThe Anaheim Angels celebrated their World Series win Tuesday. The had a parade. And they charged their fans $45 a head to see it.
The parade was in Disneyland, and rather than do something intelligent like open the park for one day in celebration, Disney sucked the money out of the fans one more time. What the hell is wrong with having one free day for the Angels and their fans? Would it kill them? Instead, if a family of four wants to see their heroes it will cost them almost $200.
I don't blame the Angels, I blame Disney, who own the team. Their execs are unable to understand that at its heart, baseball is a game for the people. For some kids, their only chance to see players like Spezio and Glaus are in a parade. But not unless you got the jack, kid.
