NLCS Game 2
Oct. 11th, 2002 08:52 amGiants 4
Cardinals 1
We did it! Getting two wins out of St. Louis was vital to advancing to the World Series. Now we have three home games to get the last two wins. Meanwhile, the Cardinals need to put together *four* wins in the remaining five games.
They still seem to be focussed on Barry Bonds, and it is the other players that are killing them. Last night Rich Aurillia pounded out two massive homeruns that built the majority of our lead. Jason Schmidt was simply more than the Cards could handle, throwing 95 mph fastballs into the 8th inning.
Series continues Saturday at Pacific Bell Park. We could make the World Series by Sunday if we sweep.
GO GIANTS!!
