Worldcon - Thursday Report
Aug. 29th, 2002 07:40 pmAfter a night on my Mom's couch, interrupted by the cats alternately freaking and using me as a pillow, I took the bus downtown to the Con.
Things were really starting to gear up, and in the newsletter office we were still trying to get tech issues sorted out. Feeling rather useless, I typed in a few notices and ran some errands; eventually taking a shift on the Newsletter table. While there my basic answer was "damned if I know" to most questions.
Tried to make two panels: Weather in the Solar System", which was given in such a halting, poorly organized manner that I leaned over to
dafydd to say that I really hoped that this woman wasn't teaching a class anywhere; and "Mining History" about using actual historical events for your fiction. This one sank when Tim Powers didn't show up, and three out of the four panelists failed to show much interest in the topic.
I am probably being overly critical because I'm dead tired. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll be more awake and remember to take notes!
