Glad you've got a good doctor! (Hail Sinistras.)

And you know that I would not ordinarily recommend 'homeopathic natural medicine', but it's the easiest way to get quinine these days:

I am not currently plagued with leg cramps particularly, but as a kid I had terrible "growing pains" leg cramps, and quinine was the only thing that worked.

I dunno from Vit E, but magnesium has been implicated in being good vs. cramps AND nerve pain, so I keep it in my daily ration as well.

B complex is good vs cramps AND is important in treating mood swings and depression. I was prescribed the stuff for menstrual cramps and mood swings. One day the pharmacy was out of bog-standard cheap variety so I had to buy fancy organic variety; that's when I discovered that the first six ingredients or so were brewer's yeast. So there may also be much to say for your non-alcoholic beers. (I promptly had a Guinness to wash my pills down when I made that discovery, as I was in London; alcohol can also help vs, cramps, but is contraindicated for you, sadly.)

I believe a double-blind test proved that loyalty to the Empire does not actually protect very well against malaria, but a sense of humor does help vs. cramps and pain in general.

Also, thanks for reminding me to buy more magnesium!
