I hadn't gotten around to doing it yet, so I went into the hospital last week with no primary care physician selected. Either I reached the "we'll pick for you" date already, or the system needed someone's name in that slot, but as I was braiding bedsheets for my escape, Kirsten brought me my letter announcing whose problem child I was now.
Noted the name, learned I already have an appointment for the 16th, and busted out.
Yesterday I was chatting with
baka49er (who happens to be my mother, for you latecomers) about the Great Escape and like. The subject of our PCPs came up.
We now have the same doctor. She chose him because he did his residency in Milwaukee (where she grew up.) I got him through the computer.
In more health update things, just managed to eat a pretty good-sized lunch. Food still doesn't taste quite right and my appetite isn't close to normal, but it's getting there. Got close to eight hours of nearly uninterrupted sleep. The swelling felt a little worse when I first got up, it it quickly receded. Still running a slight fever but it's staying under 100°. Generally still feel tired and off. In fact, I think I'm going to have a bit of a lie down now.
