I always suspected as much.

Belgium Doesn't Exist.

In other news, I rode to work, but didn't ride home. I got back to the yard at about 1530, and was immediately jumped by my boss who needed me to make a run to Hayward to do two pick ups. When I pointed to the mountain of BSI products on my truck bed, he had me use another driver's truck. This violated his own rule on drivers moving each others' vehicles. I'm sure there's a story here, I'll hear it tomorrow I'm sure.

But by the time I got back to the warehouse it was after 1800. I had called Kirsten to let her know what was up, and she was already there with Traveler loaded in the back.

I could really live without these 11.5 hour days, y'know?

In other, other news, I got a package from Buns & Noodle today, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] isomeme and family. Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick (one of the all-time great albums, in my opinion), an astronomy reference card, and C.J. Cherryh's Downbelow Station which I've some how managed to not read up until now. Of course, I need to finish Superluminal by Tony Daniel first. I grabbed this not knowing it was a sequel. So after I finish this one, I'll need to find Metaplanetary.

At least I can take a shower. The plumber hasn't returned yet, but we've been advised that we can use the shower. Yay!

DYWYPI?

I died in the Dungeon of Gridlore

I was killed in a foul-smelling passage by Supersniffles the orc, whilst carrying...

the Sword of San Francisco, the Axe of Zyxwvut, the Shield of Traveller and 16 gold pieces.

Score: 8

Other than Hitler having a smaller Adam's apple..

Can you tell the difference between quotations form Adolf Hitler and Ann Coulter?

Find out!

I got 10/14 correct.

Evidently, I ruined it for everyone.

See how your name rates.

Douglas was the 33rd most popular name in 1966, and has been in decline ever since. Currently it stands at #360. Feh.

Wow.

This is one of the more impressive bits of puppetry I've ever seen. The Little Girl Giant is almost real in her movements.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] isomeme!

Guess what I learned on alt.atheism today? That Aleister Crowley co-founded the modern Wicca movement.

He evidently did this in 1951.

Now that's dedication!

(I swear, I didn't load this song for the post...)

Because in Japan, Spiderman has a giant robot and and fights badly-dressed ninja and a Gorn in bad armor.

Amazing coolness.

A recording of Take Me Out to the Ball Game as performed by Edward Meeker.

What so cool about it? The recording company is Edison's National Phonograph Company, and this recording off a wax cylinder made the same year as the song was written - 1908.

Have a listen!

Read the post. But don't be eating or drinking when you read it.

On that note, I need an O RLY? penguin.
