iTunes has this fun feature called the Genius Playlist. Select a song you like and ask the program to create a playlist based off that song from your entire library. Obviously, the larger and more diverse your collection, the better this feature works. But with a little tweaking, you get some good mix tapes, as we elderly folk call them.
Listening to my favorites folder, and Harvey Danger's
Flagpole Sitta came on. I thought I'd see what I'd get with the Genius picking the mix. Pretty good set list:
- Flagpole Sitta - Harvey Danger
- The Way - Fastball
- It's All Been Done - Barenaked Ladies
- Cannonball - The Breeders
- Hook - Blues Traveler
- Then The Morning Comes - Smash Mouth
- Changes - David Bowie
- Party Hard - Andrew W.K.
- Love Rollercoaster - Red Hot Chili Peppers
- Always Something There To Remind Me - Naked Eyes
- Wake Up- Rage Against The Machine
- The Promise - When In Rome
- Brian Wilson - Barenaked Ladies
- Pump It Up - Elvis Costello
- Devil's Haircut - Beck
- Sleeping In - Postal Service
- What's The Frequency, Kenneth? - R.E.M.
- Our Lips Are Sealed - The Go-Go's
- Burning Down the House - Talking Heads
- Pinch Me - Barenaked Ladies
- Can't Get Enough Of You Baby - Smash Mouth
- Rebel, Rebel - David Bowie
- Beds Are Burning - Midnight Oil
- All The Young Dudes - Mott The Hoople
- And She Was - Talking Heads
One of those was a song I'd never heard before,
Sleeping In by the Postal Service. The joys of
kshandra and me sharing the iTunes account. Not complaining at all.
