On the shelf.

A flurry of emails between me and various doctors yesterday has resulted in the following steps:

  • My disability is extended to January 23rd.

  • The biopsy is going to be rescheduled.

  • I'm making a new appointment with the breathing doctor.

I want some answers. I honestly haven't felt this drained for this long since I was doing chemotherapy. There is something wrong here, and the sooner we determine what it is, the better.

Reboot, indeed!

Rising from the murky depths of computer history, the Commodore 64 rides again!

[livejournal.com profile] kshandra and I had a C64 back in the day (which meant we ended up with boxes and boxes of other peoples' Commodore junk) and enjoyed it. Owning a C64 was like owning a VW Microbus. It was cranky, didn't use any standard parts, required constant care and fine-tuning, but owning one made you part of the cult.

I still remember running the SSI Gold Box AD&D games on that machine. Several times I would have a combat encounter start, order a pizza, and the pizza would arrive before the combat had finished loading. Good times.

Tip of the floppy disk to [livejournal.com profile] filkertom for the link.

Well, bother.

I know I own a copy of the Kingdoms of Kalamar setting, including several large scale maps. They were not sold in the Great Sale last year, and I wouldn't have thrown them away. But now I can't find any of the materials anywhere. Annoyance.

About the end of the military ban on homosexuals serving...

I am the Infantry.
I am my country's strength in war, her deterent in peace.
I am the heart of the fight, wherever, whenever.
I carry America's faith and honor against her enemies.
I am the Queen of Battle.

I am what my country expects me to be
the best trained soldier in the world.
In the race for victory,
I am swift,
determined,
and courageous,
armed with a fierce will to win.

Never will I fail my country's trust.
Always I fight on,
through the foe,
to the objective,
to triumph over all.
If necessary,
I fight to my death.

By my steadfast courage, I have won 200 years of freedom.

I yield not-
to weakness,
to hunger,
to cowardice,
to fatigue,
to superior odds,
for I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight.

I forsake not-
my country,
my mission,
my comrades,
my sacred duty.

I am relentless.
I am always there, now and forever.

I AM THE INFANTRY!
FOLLOW ME!

Don't see anything there about who I sleep with on the weekends. But hey, did anyone tell John McCain that we're the Queen of Battle?

About damn time, and now the wingnuts are going to explode. I shall sit back and enjoy the show.
