I realized, while collecting laundry this morning, that I own a 20 year-old t-shirt. It's a fan made tie-dye I picked up at a Grateful Dead concert in 1987. Specifically, October 3rd, 1987 at Shoreline Amphitheater.
Set I:
Hey Pocky Way, Minglewood Blues, Candyman, Addam's Family, When I Paint My Masterpiece, West L.A. Fadeaway, My Brother Esau, Bird Song, The Music Never Stopped
Set II:
Maggie's Farm-> Cumberland Blues, Looks Like Rain, Terrapin Station-> Drums-> Jam-> The Other One-> Stella Blue-> Throwing Stones-> Turn On Your Love Light,
Encore: The Mighty Quinn
This show was notable because I took my mom and then 16 year old sister to see the band. Hey, I wanted to share this amazing thing with them. My mom had a good enough time (other than being confused by all the people trying sell her drugs) but Ann? I don't think she really got into it. Didn't help that she kept attracting the attention of well-meaning Deadheads who thought she was in real trouble.
The shirt itself has a drawing of angels passing over what are supposed to be either mountains or the Shoreline tents. Above the art work is "This Must Be Heaven" (a line from
Saint of Circumstance) and under the art is "Mountain View '87". On the back is an Eye of Horus.
Still fits, and the colors are still bright.
