Battlestar Galactica: Exodus, Part 2

DAMN

Nothing more to say about that. Nothing more need be said.

Except for one thing.

Maybe I missed something. But from what I understand, the fleet had two Battlestars: the Galactica, an older ship that was being converted to a museum as the series started, and the Pegasus, a current model ship of the line. Were I in charge, Pegasus would have carried out the rescue mission. Send the better armed and equipped ship to do the job, leaving Galactica to shepherd the fleet. Admittedly, they both became involved, but I feel that losing Pegasus was a bigger blow that anyone realizes.

I think they just offed the Pegasus because they wanted everyone on one ship again, and Battlestar Pegasus just doesn't have the same ring for a show title. ;)

Now it'll be just like old times, only with more human-on-human violence and vigilante justice. And instead of being like, "WE HATE YOU!" *BOOM*, the cylons will be like, "JESUS LOVES YOU!" *BOOM*

But other than that... just like old times.

Galactica was more expendable mainly because Pegasus was more capable of defending the remants of the civilian fleet including having its own Viper factory, which I hope was off loaded before she died.

Also she was more automated, with much bigger main batteries, making it easier for her to make a death ride without losing too many crew.

The episode really showed the utility of a jump drive that does not have a 100 diameter limit.

The 100d limit is for *safe* jumps. I've seen characters make some insane jumps in my time.

Oh, me too.

We used to call it "The Infinite Improbability Drive!"

However in atmosphere jumps seem to be more common place in BSG land.

They seemed confident they were all going to the same place.

Also if you remember the original series the Pegasus was lost presumed destroyed taking on two basestars. So their still following the original story like (kinda)

I can’t wait to see Edward James Olmos vs the Devil :-)
