Two truths, and a lie.

OK, new game. One of the statements below is a lie. You guess which.

1. I dropped out of high school, and still got my diploma on time.

2. I committed a federal offense three times in one night.

3. During my time in the hospital, a med student mistook me for another patient, and gave me the "you're going to die" speech."

I'll say 1 is the lie. :)

I vote the same as bunyip. Committing a Federal offense three times in one night is as easy as three tokes on a joint.

I dropped out of high school and still got my diploma on time.

I'd say number 3 was the lie.

I feel as if I should know this. I'm saying #3 is a lie.

We have a winner!

Other than calling me "Mr. Douglas" everyone at least knew my disease correctly.

OK,

#1. I really screwed up in high school. I maintained a 0.0 GPA with very little effort. I just didn't care. When I enlisted in the Army, my recruiter got me into an adult ed program that let me take the GED for credit. Bang, three years of high school in one afternoon. I had to take two classes a day, and those were self-paced history and government classes. I received my diploma three days before my friends at Leigh did.

#2. Early in my military career, I was dating (and sleeping with) a sixteen year old. Ft. Benning is right on the Georgia/Alabama border. We were going to see Rocky in Phenix City, Alabama, and go to a cheap, no-questions-asked motel afterwards. That's taking a minor across a stateborder for immoral purposes.

But we forgot some stuff at the braacks, so back across the bridge. The stuff is beer that we're both going to drink. Second offence. Back into Alabama, third offence

I'm going to guess #2, just to be perverse. I know drug crimes are federal offenses, but you don't seem like the type, and the other two sound implausible enough to be true.

Adultery's not a federal offense, is it? Not trying to make any implications here -- just asking.

I think adultery is one of those "sex crimes" the Feds let the states make determinations on instead of declaring it a matter of interstate commerce.
