More Madden Madness!

OK, so here's the situation.

Peyton Manning is a great QB, rated at 97 overall.. but he's by far the most expensive player on my team, and in my universe, getting older.

My back-up QB is rated overall at about 78, but has a pass accuracy rating of 95. He's 25, and is signed for 4 years at a fairly low salary. Most of the areas he lacks are ones that improve with regular playing time.

So I'm thinking of trading Manning for a good position player and a high-end draft pick. The upside would be about 10 million off my salary cap, the downside a sudden loss of offensive power. Short term vs. long term here.

So what do you think?

If you need a laugh this morning...

Scott Ostler has written a great column on Supercross.

First impression of the track setup for Saturday night's Supercross at the Giants' ballpark: I love what they've done with the place.

They've turned a boring baseball pasture into a lovely construction site, dumping tons of earth and bulldozing it into bumps, piles and little mountain peaks. It looks like a ballfield that has been attacked by 50-foot mutant gophers.

If the dump-truck drivers go on strike and the dirt piles stay in place, I predict the Giants will beat out a lot of infield hits next season.

OK, I made some moves on the football front..

I really think I enjoy this part of the game more than the actual football games..
