And things just get more awesome!

The pneumonia is mostly gone, but now I've had an allergic reaction to one of the meds and have a full-body rash.

Yes, it itches.

I strongly suspect it is the Amoxicillin. The only other candidate, the codeine-lace cough syrup, was pretty much out of the picture when this began to show up.

Joy.

That's exactly the symptom I had when I discovered that I'd somehow become allergic to all penicillin-based products (amoxi included).

I have to wear a bracelet because of it, now. I do not envy you this. :(

I was just about to say that. I'm not allergic, but both my mother and husband are. Neither of them were born with the allergy, they both developed it in their late teens.

My condolences, gridlore! It never rains but it pours with you, eh?

Well, at least he already has the MedicAlert subscription; it's just a question of adding it to the medallion. But yeah, large amounts of No Fun.

Ah, amoxicillin. I got an RX for that about ten years ago, in response to a fever of 103. I still remember walking into the 'by appointment only' student medical center at UAH a few days later and just lifting my shirt a few inches at the front desk when they asked why I was there. (It was that or wait until the end of the day to go to the ER, and I was at the 'please remove my skin so it STOPS ITCHING' point)

I was seeing the doctor inside of five minutes. For the next week, people kept asking me if I was contagious.
