Well, bother

I've posted that I've been bothered recently by pain in my legs. I thought it was due to my moving around more after long periods of inactivity. Today I noticed that my ankles and lower legs are swollen. Badly. Checked the medication sheet for Prednisone...

Listed as serious side effects. Fuck. Doctor contacted, and I'm suspending the Pred until told differently. Damnit, this stuff is letting me breathe!

Has your doctor mentioned compression hose? They help a lot with swelling and pain in the foot/ankle/calf. I've worn them for years (chronic lymphadema)

I suspect that may be a solution, but I need to hear from her first.

I have problems with my feet getting unhappy if covered (and thus hot and sweaty) for extended periods. Nasty itching/burning but not (apparently) athlete's foot or the like.

I also wear flip flops around the house. Which requires at least the gap at the big toe be free.

The folks at the clinic found me these things called Juxta-Lites. They are neoptrene & cloth and wrap around the leg. Close with velcro and have marks that you use with a guide to adjust the pressure.

*Wonderful*. Only real adjustment needed after they got me in them was a foam pad over part of one shin as I was bruising under the wrap.
