A pleasant surprise

While playing around with Internet radio, I came across a little station in Ft. Bragg (a bit north of here on the California coast) that is one of the few stations left that plays the Dr. Demento show. I tuned in to see what kind of sound quality I could get and found that they were replaying "The King Biscuit Flower Hour" with Supertramp. You whippersnappers won't remember, but listening to KBFH was very important back in the day. It might be the only way you got to hear Y&T for example.

Y&T? You know the band? You don't know Y&T? Cultural wasteland, I tell ya.

Go 'way kids, and let me reminese about when you had Tower Records in one half of the building, and Tower Posters and Plants in the other. And you'd spend hours pouring over the imports section trying to find Weird Shit from England(tm)

Wierd shit from England was to be found on Bleeker Street, in The Village. But this may have changed.

I remember KBFH. Y&T? :) Yesterday&Today of course! Somewhere in a deep dark corner of my room, I have Summertime Girls on what we old-timers call 45's :) And yes, I also remember Tower Records back in the olden days, back before CDs, when we got our music on vinyl.

(dusting off my record collection...)

I played my Supertramp album to pieces when I was younger *sigh* And I remember the KBFH from when I would listen in Texas.
