Texas Chili 3

More photos from the World Series bet with [livejournal.com profile] rickvs here. The chili is simmering as we speak. The apartment smells amazing.

We finally got around to uploading the results of the NLCS bet with [livejournal.com profile] netquiddler.

It's amusing. The big story of the Giants' off-season is the need for Pablo "Kung-Fu Panda" Sandoval to lose weight and rededicate himself to conditioning and eating wisely, and we're sitting here enjoying comfort food from around the country.

Edit: The chili has been consumed, and was awesome. The chili powder wasn't needed. I could have added a little for the burn, but the flavor was so good without additional heat. We were a little concerned that the jar+1lb of meat might be a little more than we could handle. Turns out to have been the perfect amount. We each had about two bowls worth.

Glad you enjoyed it :>

If you want more, however, one of your teams'll have to beat another of my teams. Perhaps I'd do better with college football...

Hey, Doug, what kind of chips did they send you?

[identity profile] gridlore.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Herr's Potato Chips. Very nice. The entire box was excellent. The only thing we didn't eat were the peanut chews. I can't do them, and Kiri doesn't really like peanuts.

Kirsten had the soup, and was mixed on it. I don't think she had ever had turtle soup before, so had no point of reference.

So, what is the best local beer in Philly?

I meant which flavor of Herr's did they send - I'm guessing the "Crisp 'n Tasty" blue bag.

I think the peanut chews were showing up at an office near you anyways?

As to local beer... what a question to ask a teetotaller. My suggestion might be Yuengling - they're out of nearby Pottsville, and are the oldest operating brewery in the United States.

That was the one, nice basic potato chips.
