I'm home from work due to feeling like absolute hell. Let's just say that being in a truck potentially miles from the nearest indoor plumbing is not in my or anyone else's best interests today.

But I did find this: an extended trailer for the live-action Space Battleship Yamato

But seriously, Steven Tyler? Couldn't we get a Japanese artist to do the song for a Japanese movie, especially since this sounds like he dusted off an early version of Don't Wanna Miss A Thing?

Neil Diamond did the OP for Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Tangerine Dream did the OP theme for the original Tenchi Muyo!. Using American artists for Japanese productions has a long and honored history.

Everything I've seen about this movie makes me want to see it. If the trailers are any indication, the production team "gets it." Fingers crossed that the movie is as good as the trailers make it out to be. Certainly the trailers I've seen with the rescored theme music are, shall we say, stirring.
