Iron Man 2

Liked it. The plot had some major holes in it, but it was fun. I really enjoyed that this was far more character driven. I'm really loving Samuel L. Jackson as Col. Nick Fury. Very different take on the character than seen in the comics, but very fitting. And nobody does a dead-level stare like Jackson.

If you haven't seen it yet, Stay to the end of the credits. There's an Easter Egg for the next Marvel film. There's also a cameo for Captain America's shield in one scene.

I'm really hoping Iron Man 3 features The Mandarin. That appears to be the common wisdom.

You might want to read the novelization. There are tie ins to the Ten Rings that aren't obvious in the movie, though the characters represented by them are there.

I'll do that.

So, how badly did you squee when you saw that the action was in your backyard?

I read the book before I saw the movie so I knew it was in my backyard but the rendering was pretty damn cool. The hilarious thng is that there is a Stark Expo official site and it said th Expo was opening May 7 and some people on the RDJ and Iron man communities were planning to trek out to Flushing. I had just driven by that day and was thinking to myself "They are going to be pretty disappointed." :)

The squee came when he ditched the shirt for the tank top when he was creating the new element. I needed a glass of water and a change of underwear after that.

Also, don't count IM 3 as a definite thing. Jon Favreau has been cagey about there actually being a third.
