Being a history geek, I know how bad the flu can be. I don't want to go down in the history of this potential pandemic as an "early victim."

Well, you probably have flu, whether it is of the piggy persuasion will take tests and makes no never mind. Flu is flu and in your case should not be messed with. May it be easily taken care of and you get healthy again.
