Officially safe from vampires

Had to do yet another blood draw this morning. Hopefully this will be the one that lets me go back to work.

However, about halfway through the draw, the blood stopped. Seriously, the blood stopped coming out. The technician was quite perturbed, having never seen this happen before.

Guess I'm out of blood. (Drinks a Coke) Luckily, I have a ready substitute at hand.

I've usually got stubborn blood as well, but drinking coke can make it worse if it is due to hydration problems.

I've been drinking tons of water/Gatorade/milk recently, recommended by my doctor to help the whole Potassium thing.

What happened is the vein probably collapsed, but we got enough for the test so there was no need to hunt for another.

I would have expected a string of invective longer than I am tall with a collapsed vein, though, and you didn't seem to be overly distressed when you came back out to the car.

In other news, I should've grabbed a soda when we left; the office has been out of Diet for two days now. *sob*

Just imagine how the tech would have felt if the blood crawled out of the tube after him.

Oh wait... You aren't *that* type of alien...

I've had the same problem myself. Has happened when I'm dehydrated, but also when my blood is clotting too quickly.

Yup, happened to Dad too, when his Cumedin level was too low.
