So...

Anybody got a spare $15,000 lying around? Because we could really use it. The payments are at a level we can manage, assuming we cease having lives for a time. But damn, that cars rocks. It's a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring model

I'm amazed Kirsten got to sleep last night.

Me? After back to back 10+ hour days, I'd be thrilled just to get out of work on time today.

The model they had on the lot (we got it used from Enterprise) was an automatic. Doug does eventually want to move back to San Francisco (though I don't see it happening while we still have the car payment), and a manual transmission is simply NOT an option for us there. But the advice is appreciated; I'm used to keeping a close eye on the oil (our most recent car had a slow leak hidden somewhere), so it won't be difficult to maintain those habits.

They also had other problems with the auto transmission, surging, hunting and sudden acceleration or lack of same.

I can see your point about SF streets and manuals.
