gridlore: Doug looking off camera with a grin (Baseball - Giants)

Anybody want to go to FanFest?

The Giants will be holding their Winter FanFest on Saturday, January 20th, 1100-1600.

Any fellow Giants fans want to meet up and spend the day celebrating the imminent return of baseball?

I would, but I'm going to Oregon that weekend. Sorry!

While I won't (and can't) attend Winter FanFest (it's toowayfaraway for a team that isn't my own), I will try to attend at least one Giants Cactus League game (according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_training), the D-Backs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arizona_Diamondbacks), White Sox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_White_Sox) and Rockies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_Rockies) all play spring ball in Tucson, so the Giants ought to visit at least one of those teams at a time I can see them). I'll even root for the Giants on your behalf; my beloved Redbirds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis_Cardinals) play in the Grapefruit League, so there's no conflict-of-interest involved.

Any autographs you want me to try to get?

Update

Looking at the Giants' spring training schedule (http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=sf&m=3&y=2007), the Giants play the Rockies in Tucson on Saturday, 17 March 2007.

I believe I'm going to be there as we're having a blood drive that day and I've requested to help work it. Come say hi!

Do y'all take blood from people who have had cancer/chemotherapy?

[identity profile] blueashke.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
depends on the type of cancer, but in general, yes, as long as they've been declared cancer free for at least a year - barring lymphoma, leukemia, and a few others.

That leaves me out then. Stage IV-B Hodgkin's Disease. :(

:hugs: bummer hon.

Oh, btw. I just found out that we'll be doing a blood drive at WonderCon on March 3. Is that one of the cons you guys go to? (says the girl who knows very little of cons except Xena cons.)

Probably not. Because of the convergence of BayCon's 25th Anniversary and Traveller's 30th we're heavily involved (emotionally and financially)in getting ready for that event.

ah, okay. Thought I'd check.
