Sir, I'm a sniper. It's not the size of the gun, it's where you place the shot. A 24-hour barrage by a divisional artillery brigade that doesn't disrupt the enemy for more than an hour is far less effective than the sniper who takes out the commander and the chief of staff with two shots.

I don't need a bigger gun.. all i need is a M-21 and a 500 meter line of fire.

You will at least need a Q-gun or primary beam, given that an M-21, excellent weapon though it is, has no chance of penetrating a hard-driven field of force, proof equally against material projectiles or energy weapons.
