I have a dentist's appointment.

Dentists scare the shit out of me. Seriously, I thought chemotherapy was interesting and wish i could see video of my spleen being removed, but dentists? *shudder*

But it needs to be done.

Now I just need to get over there and pick up paperwork for financial aid.

Mt new dentist is female, and graduated in 1999.

Is it safe?

I'm so glad you are finally seeing someone. I get the fear. Liam was terrified too. I hope you can get past your fears so they she can do what she needs to. Best of luck to you, sweetie.

i would suggest to ask her to describe what she's doing while she's working on you. it should interest you in a technical aspect. while i don't *enjoy* the dentist, it's easier if you go in with a "hmm, how interesting" frame of mind. doesn't hurt if she's hot, either.

I think I'm the only person left in the world who doesn't fear the dentist. It's not my favorite place to be, though.

Good luck, hope the procedure is as pain-free as possible.

Don't be shy about asking for the N02 if it's something you tolerate well. And don't be shy about asking them to turn it up if you're still wracked with anxiety. Take a headphone device in case they don't provide them, and a nice soothing tape (I kind of like Old and in the Way for denistry, personally. Remember that your dentist can prescribe drugs, and it sounds like a pre-procedure valium might not be out of order for you, with some post-procedure vicodin to follow. Sound like you might even be a candidate for the twilight "sleep" dentistry advertized on the radio the last few years. Good luck!

I get tension headaches like a bitch whenever I go to the dentist. I feel for you. Hope everything is quick and painless!! :)

I fall asleep in the dentist's chair; I even find a root canal quite relaxing. Yeah, I'm a sick-o. Speaking of chemotherapy, we'll have to x-change chemo stories some day. Not fun.

Oh. And fuck cancer!
