Shopping!

Kirsten and I went out to run errands, and actually accomplished a great deal. We took a ton of laundry to Oasis and are letting them clean it. We've gotten really behind on this, but I've put my foot down. Next week, the stuff we found under the first pile goes in. Then winter stuff gets stored, things get put away, and we do laundry every Saturday without fail!

After that we dropped Kiri's Playa bike off for some work, then went to Costco. Which was funny, because here we were finally with a budget - and we didn't need much! I got water for next week along with the nutritional drinks I've been guzzling since my teeth got so bad, and Kiri picked up some food for That Thing In The Desert, and that was about it.

I really wanted the new John Hiatt CD, so while Kiri headed home, I walked over to B&N. Found the CD (which is excellent, BTW) and wandered over to the SF section to have a quick look and..

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Settling Accounts: Drive To The East by Harry Turtledove!!! The eighth (or ninth, depending how you count it) volume in his massive history of the late 19th and early 20th centuries in a world where the Confederacy won the Civil War. I'm already about half done with it. :)

I was going over to my mom's for the Niner's first pre-season game, but I'm just beat. Probably calling it an early night.

Excellent. And true to form, a major character has bitten the dust.

Oasis? Is that a business? I'm sorely tempted to go the extra few bucks to get some done for me while we're in crunch time for Equus.

Yeah, it's a full service laundry. $1.10/lb for wash, dry and fold. There are several in the valley, don't know about up on the pennisula.
