It is getting harder and harder to kept my sense of optimism here.

and I'm not talking about the Giants sucking.

I didn't get the job. Another applicant had previous tow experience.

WTF, people.. I ran their fucking board for fifteen minutes this morning! What the hell am I supposed to do? Cut off a limb, remove a major organ? (Oh yeah, I did that already, which why I'm in this bloody mess right now.)

I have an interview for a driving job Monday morning. I'm trying desperately to keep my hopes up and go in strong. I don't know how much more I can take of being rejected.

PS: Why is it the more booze I drink, the better I spell?

Cutting off a limb won't do you any good because that would just make it irrepairable damage, and we'd lose our fav penguin if that happened. No thanks. Removing a major organ you have already done, and from the sound of it you don't need to have another one removed. That would be worse.

Another thing: Experience isn't everything. This I am finding out the hard way about multiple subjects.

And the more desperate you are to try and get something, the chances grow increasingly less likely that you will get whatever it is you're hoping to achieve. Desprete = bad.

Hugs you tight. I'm so sorry.

I wish I could explain why people are so stupid, but the reason completely escapes me at the moment. *hug*

The 19 resumes I sent out two weeks ago? Not even one phone call. I've been actively pursuing a new job since last August - several interviews, no offers. I can sympathize.

Job hunting is rough, no doubt

But the things that lead to success or failure have a large random factor to them (in other words, it may have nothing to do with what you did or didn't do). You may have been unlucky enough to be the second most qualified candidate on everything, or an idiot may have been too embarassed to admit to spilling coffee on your application on a job where you were clearly the best. You just don't know. The bright side is that successes can be just as arbitrary.

I'm so sorry, Doug. That really sucks! I really thought this would be the one. :( Major vibes that you get hired and SOON.

Job hunting is a PITA.

The Penn Law Library is closed during the summer and us "temporary staff" members don't get paid for the Summer months off. I hate the job hunt BS so much I'm trying to weather being unemployed until September... I guess I could practice again, but in this point of my life I'm fed up with lawyers... ;-p

Are you having a hard time with your job hunt because they feel you're "overqualified?"

Keep the faith

Doug,

Keep hope.

Currently I'm looking around for something better than the helldesk job I have now. Yes, it's gone from a hobby of helping others with thier computer problems to a job. Bleh.

However, I'm of the 'sniper' school of job hunting. Of course you know what snipers spend most of thier time doing...

My own hunt is getting not to a very desperate point, but I know where you are
