Holy Flashback, Batman!

[livejournal.com profile] isomeme will be pleased at this.

Last night, we went out for Kiri's birthday dinner with [livejournal.com profile] murphymom. My discussion of wanting to get back into figure painting made her think of a store she and [livejournal.com profile] n_1_n had been into a few day previously. So we went to Campbell for dinner, and then to the store. A gaming store.

Brand new, and still pretty bare. Mostly miniatures stuff but a decent shelf of RPGs. The owner was a cute, very knowledgeable young woman who seemed really into both the store as a profit maker and as a gaming space.

They will be getting my business. And when GURPS Space comes out for the 4th edition rules, I'll have a place for my game to run!

Craig, you'd love this place. Very much the GameTable vibe from it.

Sweet! And even in Campbell, where game stores are *supposed* to be! (It would be too much to ask for it to be in the middle of the Great Hexagon, I suppose.) What's the place called?

We lost our FLGS in Westwood a couple of years ago. It, too, had the Game Table vibe. I played my only recent face-to-face RPG sessions there, sitting around a rickety table in the back room. It was like being 16 again; I loved it.

And the campaign allowed my geeky engineer character to visit Darrian and ogle TL17* goodies. Life was good. Until we went from there into the Sword Worlds. Things went downhill rapidly from there. But in interesting ways. :)
