A Darwin Award waiting to hqappen

Driving this morning to drop off a resume, I saw the following.

It was fairly foggy this AM, with the odd white light you get from the sun shining through the cover. Made for crappy visability overall, and the patches of ground fog made things worse. The road I was on is a fairly busy four-lane with several curves along its length. Speed limit is 35mph, but most people do about 45.

Anyway, as I drove along, I noticed a woman jogging in the middle of street! She was wearing a light gray track suit (nicely blending into the fog) and had an iPod plugged into her head. She wasn't crossing the street, but instead jogging right down the middle of a lane.

Yeah, jogging is so good for your health.

We get a lot of byciclists (I know I botched my spelling roll on that one... anyway...) here who don't have any reflectors on their bikes, let alone lights. They also run red lights and stop signs on a regular basis. I'm always surprised there aren't more fatalities.

We've got her sister up here. Two-lane street, sidewalks both sides separated from the street by nice grassy bits, and she jogs in the street, in the middle of a lane blocking traffic. Given that there is ony one lane each direction, this raises tempers a bit.

No iPod, but some music system (black earphones).
