Evidently Live Journal is feuding with rec.arts.sf.fandom.

That's sort of like "rec" flaming "soc". It makes no sense. I'm sure there are LJ ites and rasff ers flaming eachother over in rasff, but not in my LJ. Or in My LJ friends list either.
