A very difficult night.
When I got home from work yesterday, I decided I wasn't even going to bother with the Giants game (we ended up losing -again) but just eat, do email, and go to bed. Oh, the best laid plans of mice and men..
About 2100, I start coughing.. Really hacking, to the point of nausea. More cough syrup. My allergies have crusted one eye shut, so I have to clean that to get depth perception back. As I'm washing my face, I realize that even though it's a fairly mild evening, and I'm stark naked, I'm dripping sweat. Yup, the fever's back, with a vengeance.
Mutter curses, and go back to bed... when the local kids start screaming in the space between buildings. I mutter more curses, then sit up and grab for the phone. The little monsters are trying to bash in the heads of the cats who live back there! Call 911, and really wish I had a cattle prod. I would have gone down myself, but I was so shaky at that point I wasn't sure how a confrontation with a 12 year old would turn out.
To pass the time, I get up and bundle up (I know from past experience that burning out a fever works for me) and get on the computer. Cops come, and roust the kids. (Two cars, and they were out there for a while. I imagine there was a lecture to the parents involved.) Figure that I'm awake, so I'll play Madden. Wildcats win huge against the hapless Titans.
Finally go back to bed around 0230. The fever broke in that time, and my throat appears to be on the verge of healing, so I better be kicking this thing completely before Baycon.
