A musical fixation

For some reason, over the last few days I've been unable to listen to anything but Barenaked Ladies.. Pity we only own two cds of theirs. Everything to Everyone and Disc One: All Their Greatest Hits (1991 - 2001

Any suggestions on other BNL I should get?

Maroon, their last album, was actually very underwhelming, aside from the final track, "The Night I Fell Asleep at the Wheel", which was as nice a song about a traffic fatality as you'll ever hear.

Stunt was very good, and Gordon remains a high point. Maybe You Should Drive was a bit too quirky of a followup, and I've never listened to Rock Spectacle or Born on a Pirate Ship.

I love "Rock Spectacle", but it will have a lot of overlap with the Greatest hits package. But it's a live album, and it's a GOOD live album, and that's a marvel.

The NME put it best when they said "Remember, 'Maroon' is a verb as well as a colour".

Their best song ever is "McDonald's Girl", which you'll have to hunt around on the Internet for it -- so far as I know it was never formally released.

I own every one of their CDs... if you want copies to listen to and decide whether or not you wish to "buy" the actual CD, let me know! I'd be more than happy to ship you any that you'd like. Oh... except I don't think I own Shoebox... but I have the rest. AIM me at: ishmaeltgreat or email me: calypsomonkey@yahoo.com

Gordon.
It's my absolute favorite, anyway.
