I get ideas in the weirdest places.

I was watching the A&E series Airline. If you don't watch, it's about the daily activities of Southwest Airlines employess at Chicgo and LAX. Most of it it is, of course, bitchy customers.

But they look like they're having a good time. Hmm..

So I've filled out an application to be a flight attendant.

I love people. Dealing with people going to new places was one of my favorite things about being at SuperShuttle. Hell, I like going new places! I remember dealing with the flight crews from US Air. They were mostly tired or happy when I took them to their hotels.

I don't want to be a cashier forever. I want to do something again. I'm 37. It's time for a change. My health is as good as it will ever get. Kirsten has been fighting a couple of nasty infections for a week, and I haven't gotten anything. I haven't seized in a *year* and am on lower med levels. And nobody is hiring police dsipatchers.

Wish me luck.

Dude, if you have the chops for it, go for it. Maybe you'll see me as I embark on my odyssey to Seattle! :D

I was joking with [livejournal.com profile] kshandra last night.. picture the Giants and Dodgers meeting in the NLCS.. and we sweep them. My next flight is a morning commute run, LAX to SFO. I'm doing the preflight announcements.

"Good morning, and welcome aboard Southwest Airline's Flight 386, direct service Los Angeles to San Francisco.." blah blah blah ".. and one more item, if you are a follower of the recently eliminated Dodgers;" pull out Giants cap and put it on "this is going to be the longest hour your ever spent in the air."

Best of luck to you. That would be a fascinating job, I'm sure.

Good luck!

Do you think your background will make a difference, post 9/11?

Honorable serivce in the Army, never been arrested, never been sued.. I checked my own background when I was applying for police positions. (And I did pass the California Highway Patrol background investigation back in 1992.. I just failed the interview by one bleeding point.)

I honestly can't think of anything. If I'm missing something, please mail it to me?

Good luck! Hopefully they won't hold any kind of a seizure disorder against you. They banned me from donating blood when they found out that I had petite mal seizures, hell, the nurse didn't notice the one I had when I was talking to her.

Well, my epilepsy is well-controled by medication.. at this point, as I said, I haven't had a seizure in a year. I have no trouble standing for long periods at work, lifting and carrying things, and meeting the other job requirements.

Whoa!

I remember a Southwest "Beer Flight" to Las Vegas 12 or 14 years ago. The steward announced that is was beer time, and started rolling cans down the the center. (We were in the air, but still climbing slightly.) He stopped when they began hitting the far rear bulkhead. I wanted to join Southwest myself.
