As I restrain the fist of death...

Last week, Kiri called the cable people to reestablish our TV service. I was informed they would be calling us about doing the reconnect. Days pass, with nothing happening. So today I call them.

They have no record of the order. None. sigh

So I make a new order. For basic cable. I repeat this several times. Finally, as the call is about to conclude, I ask what the monthly rate is. The person on the other end says "$45 a month." Considering that is Thirty bucks higher than what my mom pays for the same service, I should be congratulated for not screaming. Instead I calmly explained that this seemed a little high. The Clueless One happily chirped that our old Extended Basic service had gone up, and no it was $45, and.. I cut her off, pointing out that all I wanted was Basic. Bottom of the line, as long as I get ESPN and FSBA, el cheapo cable.

Now somebody has to be here Monday between 1600-1800 for the reconnect.

Be glad you don't hsave the fun I did getting cable internet service. Not only did *I* have to be here, but the apartment manager (who is usually only here once a week) or the "handyman" (lives here, but has a regular job, too) had to be here to unlock the closet they keep the patch panel in. :-(
